Dear Mr. Burns,
I'd like to put my
commitment to education and my seven years experience in
classroom teaching to work as a 4th-5th
grade teacher at Home Town Elementary School.
As a 5th
grade teacher at Burnside Elementary School in Springfield, I
successfully developed and implemented a new math education
program integrating multimedia support and self-paced learning
modules.
This program, which
went on to receive statewide commendation from the Illinois
Department of Public Instruction, could be a good match with
your school's educational goals, as identified in the Home Town
School District Superintendent's School Planning Report for
2009-2010.
I strive to create
learning environments which motivate and inspire students, while
providing them with the disciplined educational approach needed
to establish a firm foundation for lifelong learning.
I use frequent and
varied assessment practices to ascertain each student's level of
development and monitor progress towards appropriate goals.
Through weekly communication with families, I strengthen and
increase parental involvement with their children's education.
I have a Bachelor of
Science in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois
at Urbana Champaign and am completing course work for my
Master's during the summer months.
In addition, I have
completed in-service training in Classroom Technology, Student
Skill Assessment and Testing, 21st Century Curriculum
Development and School/Community Integration.
