Making the Transition to Becoming a Freelancer

Many people that work as employees cherish the idea of one day being their own boss.  That can be achieved either by opening their own businesses or becoming freelancers.
 
Transitioning into freelance would be a good idea for those seriously considering that path.  Work part-time or during week-ends while keeping your current job.  As contracts flow in and as you gain more exposure, you can then decide to make the final jump. 
 
Transitioning also has the advantage of allowing reality to set in before it's too late.  Wishful thinking is often associated with many people's desire to go off on their own, until they realize that it is not so easy to earn a living that way.  Do your research and prepare well.
