2020 is almost over. 2021 brings hope that life will soon return to normal. This means that many of us will leave the comfort of our homes and go back to the workplace. A small consolation may be that employers are now more open to flexible work arrangements, meaning that working from home one or two days a week may become an option.
As we prepare for the new year, let’s look back and acknowledge the sacrifices that we made, the challenges that we faced and the moments of pain and joy in between. It’s not over yet, but as we walk towards the light at the end of the tunnel, it’s time to start the transition.
Let’s take the next few weeks and months to prepare to reintegrate the workforce with renewed energy. What can we do to be more productive? Where can we focus our attention now that we’ve had a chance to reflect on our careers? How can we juggle work and personal commitments to achieve more balance going forward?
It’s time to prepare for the new journey ahead. There is no doubt that society will change. Whether for the better or worse is up to each of us.
