In response to the advertisement in Sunday’s Home Town Gazette, I would like to apply for the position of office clerk at Widgets Inc.
I graduated from the Home Town Technical College with an associate degree in office management in May 2009, and have been working as a temporary clerical assistant at Wollam’s Insurance ever since.
This experience and my education have prepared me to take on more responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
Technical College has provided me with excellent computer skills, and I have worked with the full suite of Microsoft Applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
At Wollam’s Insurance I learned what office work is like in the real world, and honed my skills at multi-tasking, setting priorities, customer service and following through.
I have attached a copy of my resume and contact information for three references, including my major professor from Technical College, the manager of Glenn’s Drug Store where I worked throughout high school.
I understand that you require an aptitude test for the position. I look forward to scheduling this test at your earliest convenience.
